Set D 500usec Packet Inter-Arrival Time
The following section shows the difference between automatically allowing the interface to detect the line speed and explicitly setting the line speed of an interface for 500usec packet inter-arrival time.
The following Figures show a reduction in outliers when the line speed was explicitly set to either 10Mbit/sec or 100Mbit/sec.
Figure 26: Automatic 10Mbit/sec Figure 27: Explicit 10Mbit/sec Figure 28: Automatic 100Mbit/sec Figure 29: Explicit 100Mbit/sec
The Tables below show the small reduction in varience and standard deviation due to elimination of outliers for explicitly set line speeds.
Table 25: Automatic 10Mbit/sec (usec)
Mean Variance Standard Deviation 583.250 1.397 1.182
Table 26: Explicit 10Mbit/sec (usec)
Mean Variance Standard Deviation 583.250 1.107 1.052
Table 27: Automatic 100Mbit/sec (usec)
Mean Variance Standard Deviation 508.364 1.665 1.290
Table 28: Explicit 100Mbit/sec (usec)
Mean Variance Standard Deviation 508.364 1.294 1.138
